Library Media Center
The Ogden International School of Chicago's West Campus Library serves the 7th - 11th grade students. With a growing collection of fiction, non-fiction and reference materials, the library offers a place for our students to come, sit, study or just quietly read. Ogden's West Campus Library/Media specialist is Mr. Steve Noel.
Entrance to the library is based on a first come, first serve basis. If it becomes too crowded, the media specialist reserThe library hours are as follows:
7:30 a.m. - 8:05 a.m.
4th Period Recess/Lunch for 7th and 8th graders
5th Period Recess/Lunch for 9th grade
6th Period Recess/Lunch for 10th and 11th graders
3:00 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.
Students do not need a library card for checkout. Books may be checked out for 2 weeks. There is no limit. Lost or stolen items are the responsibility of the patron. They must be found, replaced or paid for to continue library book checkout.
Please, no food or drinks in the library.
electronic card catalog
OISC is part of Project SOAR. (Seeking Online Access to Resource). This is a multiply layered system that includes electronic book checkout, daily updated patron rosters, individualized patron book holding requests and inventory.

There are two dedicated computers in the West Campus library for card catalog access, although any computer with Internet access can browse these card catalogs.
There are three types of databases available: classic, interactive, and childrens'. The interactive database can allow students using their CPS username and password to set up requested or books used in research based on user created lists.
Non-fiction books are arranged on the shelf using the Dewey Decimal System. Fiction books are arranged alphabetically by the first three letters of the author's last name. Biographies are arranged in the 921 section first, then arranged by the first three letter of the individual who the biography is about. Reference books do not circulate.
media center computer lab
OISC West Campus boasts four computer labs. Of those labs, Room 1022 is available for student use before arrival, during lunch recess and after school. This computer lab follows the same hours as the library. No passes are necessary for student use as it is on the same first come, first serve basis. If the lab becomes full, then no student will allowed in. However, if a student needs to come in for a legitimate reason, the supervisor reserves the right to remove a student who is either playing a game or distrupting the class.
