Mr. Reilly's kindergarten class has been having fun participating in some great activities regarding Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad. We discussed how she was a hero and risk-taker by being a "conductor" of the Underground Railroad. After looking at an Underground Railroad quilt Mr. Reilly's grandma made for him, the students created their own Underground Railroad quilt. They also discussed what each pattern means and how the slaves had to traverse from the south to the north to escape slavery. Here are a handful of pictures from that event!
