International Baccalaureate MYP

middle years programme: 6th - 10th grades

Personal Project

The personal project is an important part of the MYP for all students. The personal project is an opportunity for every 10th grader to do research on any topic they choose. The personal project is a reflection of a student’s ability to manage and direct their own inquiry and a reflection of the skills learned through the MYP experience. There are four parts to the personal project:

  1. Product — something tangible another person can see, hear or read.
  2. Process journal – this is to be done in a black and white composition book that Ogden will provide to you.
  3. Personal statement report in the form of a structured piece of writing
  4. Teacher panel interview -after the student turn in their project, they meet with a panel of teachers to talk about the experience with the personal project.
