The Taught Curriculum

The six transdisciplinary themes help teachers to develop a programme of inquiries–in-depth investigations into important ideas, identified by the teachers, and requiring a high level of involvement on the part of the students. These inquiries are substantial, in-depth and usually last for several weeks. (www.ibo.org)

Here at Ogden, our Pre-K through fifth grade staff worked together to develop our Ogden International School of Chicago PYP Programme of Inquiry. We brainstormed and collaborated in multi grade- level teams, including our counselor, special education and special area teachers, to be sure to include all important topics for Ogden students to know and explore.

The end result is a solid Programme of Inquiry that follows the PYP transdisciplinary theme model and includes learning units appropriate to the developmental level of our learners.

We will be continually reflecting on and reviewing our Programme of Inquiry to ensure that it includes units and learning experiences most appropriate to our Ogden learners.
