CAROL A. SCAFIDE

Mrs. Scafide has been a teacher in the Archdiocesan Schools and Chicago Public Schools for twenty-three years. She has taught all grade levels, including special education. She came to Ogden in 2003, where she teaches reading/language arts and science. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northeastern University and a Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University. She also has numerous graduate hours in science.

Mrs. Scafide has also been a curriculum writer and consultant for The Center for Learning Technology in Urban Schools, at Northwestern University. She has written and enacted middle grade science curriculum which is taught in the Chicago and Detroit Public Schools. She has also taught university classes for teachers wanting to learn new ways of teaching science. Mrs. Scafide is a Golden Apple nominee, and a multiple year honoree in Who's Who Among American Teachers.
