LYNN THOMPSON
Lynn Thompson has been teaching in the Chicago Public Schools system since 1993. She joined the Ogden community at the start of the 2004-2005 school year. She has enjoyed getting to know the students, parents, and faculty. She loves teaching the intermediate grades, especially 4th grade. Over the years she has served on many school committees. She is currently a member of the Educational Leadership Team at Ogden. She also enjoys mentoring and being a cooperating teacher for student teachers.
She received her bachelors in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is certified to teach kindergarten through ninth grade, as well as being endorsed to teach social studies. She is also certified to teach gifted education. She achieved and was awarded National Board Certification in 2003. She furthers her education by taking a variety of classes and workshops.
She is a native New Englander and spent much of her life in a small seaside town in Connecticut, although she now considers Chicago her home. She lives with her husband Michael and their two cats, Stella and LuLu. She is an avid reader and enjoys nothing more than relaxing with an interesting book. In her spare time she loves to walk, bike, and bake. She has been a lifelong Red Sox fan, and more currently a Cubs fan. Since the Red Sox have finally won the series, she is now hoping that this season the Cubs can do the same.
