Please notify the students, their families and the entire school community so that they can watch the episodes.

As many of you know, we have resumed production with ALL NEW STORIES – which will begin to air on MONDAY, MAY 12 -  We are thrilled to have so many new and returning schools participating!!  We can’t wait for your feedback!!  Email us and let us know the reaction of your students and teachers.

Our goal is to help build enthusiasm for writing by featuring students' stories on GREEN SCREEN ADVENTURES.  Giving them the chance to watch these new episodes….as well as  the reruns… is one way to build that excitement.

We also hope that each school will find a way to tape the episodes so that it can be used as a classroom tool - and a way to build school pride.

Dear Parent/Guardian of Eighth Grade Student:

The plans for this year’s graduation activities are well underway.  Graduation exercises for the Class of 2008 will be held on Saturday, June 7th at 4:00 p.m.  Currently, we are still working to identify a location.  Regardless of the auditorium we finally choose, each graduate will receive four (4) tickets for the ceremony since all of the locations we are considering have space limitations.

In order to graduate, your child must receive passing grades (C or better) in all subjects, maintain regular attendance to school, and meet the criteria on the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT), as outlined in the Elementary School Promotion Policy.

The cost for the graduation package is $65.00 per student.  This cost includes the cap and gown, a preliminary ribbon, a printed graduation ribbon, a deluxe autograph book, a diploma cover, a souvenir tassel, a class t-shirt, and the related expenses for the event.  The name of the school and year will be printed on the ribbons, autograph books, and diploma covers.  Payment may be made with cash or money order at the school or, for a nominal fee, you can also pay the fee on-line using a credit card via the e-pay link on our website, www.ogdenschool.org. Students must submit their graduation fee to their homeroom teacher no later than Friday, May 9th.

The Eighth Grade Luncheon and Awards Ceremony (optional activity) will be held at Excalibur Restaurant, 632 North Dearborn Street, on Wednesday, June 4th.  The cost of the luncheon is $50.00 (cash, money order, or use the e-pay link on our website) and is due no later than Friday, May 9th.  Please sign the permission letter sent home with your child and return it along with the fee.  The cost includes bus transportation, a full lunch buffet (BBQ ribs, chicken, potatoes, salad, fruit, graduation cake, and soft drinks), music and dancing to the music of an Excalibur DJ, and an opportunity for students to spend time with their classmates just prior to graduation.

Sincerely,

Kenneth M. Staral

Principal
